About This Agent

Data on This Page

Trade pairs and rings flagged for wash trading, circular trading or marking-the-close, showing the linked accounts, instrument, pattern type, volume involved and the time window. Stat tiles cover trades screened in the last 24 hours (6,410), linked account pairs identified (8), open investigations, and the largest flagged volume.

What This Agent Does

Cross-references trade counterparties against beneficial ownership and account-linkage data to detect self-matched or circular trading with no genuine change in economic ownership, and separately flags disproportionately large or price-moving trades placed in the closing auction window, both of which create a misleading impression of volume or price.

Worked Examples

  • Accounts 61204 and 61209, confirmed to share the same beneficial owner, traded €2.4M of SOLR.MI back and forth in three trades within five minutes — under investigation as a textbook wash trade.
  • A five-account ring traded BALT.ST in a circular pattern over two days totalling €1.1M, none of the accounts holding a net position by the end — flagged for analyst review to confirm coordination.
  • A €95K trade in the final 30 seconds of the MERX.PA session was closed with no action — volume and price impact were within the instrument's normal closing-auction range.
